5.499 Studenten aus der ganzen Welt – ein neuer Rekord – haben sich zum fünften weltweiten Studentenwettbewerb "Fly Your Ideas" angemeldet, den Airbus gemeinsam mit der UNESCO organisiert.

Ein Gremium von 60 Airbus-Experten und -Innovatoren hat die Projektvorschläge von 356 Teams aus 89 Ländern beurteilt. Nach dieser strengen Prüfung an vier Airbus-Standorten in Frankreich, Deutschland, Spanien und Großbritannien sind nun noch 50 Studententeams in der engeren Auswahl. Sie werden ab Januar 2017 die zweite Runde des Wettbewerbs bestreiten.

50 teams selected for fifth Fly Your Ideas global competition

A record 5,499 students from around the world registered to participate in the fifth edition of Airbus’ Fly Your Ideas, the global student challenge organised in partnership with UNESCO. Of these, 50 teams comprising 202 students with 38 different nationalities were selected to participate in the next round of the competition, starting in January 2017. The Fly Your Ideas competition encourages students to develop innovative ideas to meet real-world aviation challenges. It offers a unique opportunity for students worldwide, working in diverse teams of 3-5 members, to develop valuable skills, including teamwork, project management, communications and presentation, and to get involved in engineering.

The winning projects over the four editions of the FYI were not selected based on their potential benefit to Airbus. Instead the proposed ideas, degree of innovation and potential contribution to a better environment, teamwork shown throughout the competition, as well as the quality of the students’ work and team presentations were what decided the winners. Not all submitted ideas from the competition will find their way onto Airbus aircraft or into Airbus processes, but many of them are shared with specialists throughout the organisation.

Airbus shortlists 50 teams for fifth Fly Your Ideas global competition

A record 5,499 students from around the world registered to participate in the fifth edition of Airbus’ Fly Your Ideas, the global student challenge organised in partnership with UNESCO.

A group of 60 Airbus experts and innovators assessed the ideas submitted by 356 teams from 89 countries. The rigorous evaluation process took place at four different Airbus locations in France, Germany, Spain and the UK, with 50 student teams selected to reach Round Two of the competition, starting in January 2017.

Airbus seleccionó a 50 concursantes para la quinta edición de Fly Your Ideas en colaboración con la UNESCO, el cual alcanzó cinco mil 499 estudiantes inscritos en todo el mundo.

Un grupo de 60 expertos e innovadores de Airbus se encargó de evaluar las ideas presentadas por 356 equipos de 89 países. El riguroso proceso de evaluación se llevó a cabo en las cuatro instalaciones de Airbus de Francia, Alemania, España y Reino Unido, y de él salieron seleccionados 50 equipos de estudiantes para pasar a la segunda ronda del concurso, que dará comienzo en enero de 2017”, indicó el fabricante.
